I contacted Redstart Foods less than a week before our event because the other caterer stopped responding to emails. They were able to accommodate our last minute order easily. They were very helpful in developing a personalized menu based on several guests' dietary needs. The food was delivered on time. And most importantly, the food was AMAZING! People loved everything but especially the veggie fritter and the veggie dipping sauce. The ingredients were fresh. The veggie platter had all fresh veggies from the farmers market and was beautifully arranged. All the food was devoured. I cannot speak highly enough of Redstart Foods. We were so impressed with their food we will be ordering weekly meals moving forward. Thanks Redstart!
We use their meal service to have meals delivered regularly. The meals are excellent. The portions are perfect for 2 people. Everything has been stellar. They do have plenty of seasoning, but not too salty or spicy for our palette. Also, they do vary the menu weekly and use locally sourced products when possible. It's just a great concept with great food and service.
Redstart has been an amazing addition to our diet. We don’t get to eat out as much or have as much time to cook as we used to before children. Restart makes having tasty, cheffy, and healthy meals at home easy and cost-effectively, especially compared to traditional takeout. In particular, we appreciate the high quality ingredients, including their use of olive oil frequently over lower quality fats.
Best catering in Durham! You will love their food it's memorable. I had to ask who the caterer was because it's was fresh and amazing. Definitely using them in the future!
This is my favorite go-to spot in Durham and it is truly a treasure. My favorite part about it is that it’s in the community and we can just walk there from the Northgate Park area. I usually go there with friends from the neighborhood for dinner or lunch. It’s laidback with friendly staff and the food is outstanding and creative. It’s one of the few places in Durham where I can get a no fuss breakfast and good coffee. Their breakfast potatoes are amazing (even the ones they serve at dinner) and they have the best homemade English muffins. Although they aren’t solely a vegan or vegetarian restaurant, they have plenty of those options and I actually find myself gravitating to those dishes because they are insanely flavorful and delicious. They have a wonderful retail shop with already prepared meals, gifts, and other knick knacks.
I loved it! There were pastries, hot breakfast, and lunch too. And there was a smoked salmon English muffin with pickled sunchoke cream cheese and dill that was fantastic. The smoked salmon came direct from Alaska through the chef’s friend. It was a cute little place with murals designed by Jordan herself, and it is just perfect! There are candles shaped like food in the retail area, which my kids really enjoyed.
Consistently great food and service every time I visit. They also have a fantastic brunch and outdoor seating. An awesome place to take out of town guests. On your way out, get some scratch made pastries from their bakeshop before you go
Redstart Foods has changed my life. It's been difficult for me to find a meal prep company that offers vegetarian options that doesn't require ordering a minimum of 6 meals per week, which inevitably go to waste. Redstart's vegetarian options are amazing. I can't speak to the meat but I'm sure it's great too. I get the protein and vegetables I need, the meals are flavorful and fresh with a variety of options, and they arrive on time and perfectly packaged. I'm also happy to be able to support a local company. Thank you, redstart!
Just took my first trip here; my wife and daughters have been fans for a while. The food is delicious, all homemade and hearty. It isn't too fussy, but has just the right amount of zhuzh...like crispy fried onions on the crispy potatoes - yum. Parking out front is very limited, but there's a sizable lot out back. It's worth parking and checking out the little shop in the front, which has wine, beer, various food items and a table full of stylish, high quality handmade crafts, like bottle openers made from polished oyster shells. Looking forward to going back!
As soon as you walk in this place you know it’s special. The front of the store has a unique wine selection, a table of knick-knacks, a cooler of prepared foods, and all the good vibes. The English muffin sandwiches are incredible. I get mine Mike’s way (pickles and hot sauce) with sausage. The roasted potatoes are delicious. I can’t wait to come back for dinner and pop some of these bottles.
